Global Industrie 2023 under the eye of AI
30 March 2023From 7 to 10 March, the DiagRAMS team set foot in Lyon for 4 days of exchanges and meetings at the largest industrial gathering in France: Global Industrie.
For this 5th edition placed under the sign of reindustrialisation, we had the pleasure to be part of the 2500 exhibitors and to present our predictive maintenance solution within the AI Village organised by the Direction Générale des Entreprise and Hub France IA. On the programme: the latest AI innovations applied to the industrial world, as well as conferences on the major themes that will affect the sector in 2023.

ACHIEVE ITS ENERGY EFFICIENCY TARGETS
> Reducing the carbon impact of AI
Digital AI devices consume significant resources, including energy. It is therefore important to link economic and ecological reasoning when designing a solution. Reverting to an AI that is frugal in terms of data, developing less complex models, using embedded AI... These are all ways of minimising the environmental impact of Artificial Intelligence.
> Controlling energy costs
Thanks to its predictive capabilities, AI tools allow manufacturers to better manage their energy resources and optimise their processes. The objective: to consume just what is necessary while respecting the time, quality and safety constraints of the operators. How can this be achieved? By intervening both on utilities (air conditioning, heating, etc.) and on the production tools themselves.
AI in the field
Global Industrie has enabled the entire French industrial sector to shine. It was in this light that the AFIM organised the Maintenance Forum at the show.
Punctuated by pitches and conferences, the forum presented concrete cases of use responding to the new challenges of the sector, whether ecological, energy-related, societal, linked to professions or relocations.
In this context, we intervened alongside Ponticelli to present how to effectively use process data to detect, diagnose and predict malfunctions in natural gas storage facilities and to monitor energy consumption at our client STORENGY.
DEALING WITH CYBERSECURITY ISSUES
According to a survey conducted by Kaspersky ICS, industrial cyber attacks have increased by 34% in 2022. As these attacks become more complex and numerous, AI is helping under-resourced security analysts stay ahead of the threats.
FACILITATING THE ADOPTION OF IA BY PUTTING PEOPLE AT THE CENTRE
Technology, ecology, human resources... AI is still in the news! However, it is slow to be adopted within certain companies. Whatever our business, AI enriches our work by helping to anticipate and make decisions. To facilitate the transmission of this message to its employees, social dialogue in companies is necessary to build trust and develop a more efficient AI.
WORKING TOGETHER ON A EUROPEAN SCALE
The EU is preparing a first set of rules around the opportunities and risks of AI, to build trust in AI. In this line, it is essential to boost cooperation between companies around a common political objective: foster European sovereignty and strengthen a dynamic IA ecosystem of European partners in order to challenge the monopolies that are taking hold across the Atlantic.
